Wish Tree (2016) is the part of series of art events about the Global Refugee Crisis. Many cultures use wish trees to express their hopes, and expectations for such a long time. We implemented this old tradition for a public art installation event about the refugee crisis.
We shared some information with the participants to show the seriousness of the problem, and later asked them “what would you do?”. Public shared their responses by writing their thoughts and feelings on a piece of cloth, and hanging on a tree. The event was for one day, and the public showed great interest during the installation. Later, the clothes and the writings were exhibited at the #nothere exhibition.
